Denoples never said a word though, neither to encourage him to take it or to scold him. Instead he just stood there patiently with the lantern in his hand. To Dailon he looked a bit like a man trying to lure a bird with delicious food, in order to get it to trust him.
He knew he only had two choices though. Either not taking it as he mistrusted the headmaster or to take it as a sign of trust. Neither options were bad, though in the end he decided it be better to go along with it and figure out what was going on. It was dark and he did not have any information he could use. Not to mention that in a physical confrontation they would most likely not end up on top. Without a chance of escape or victory it was the best to go along with it for now, gather more information and find an advantage he could use.
“Thank you!” He said, trying to sound grateful, as his fingers grasped the lantern and lifted it into the air. It was doubtful that he really sounded thankful, though this did not seem to disturb Denoples. In fact he only seemed to be even more pleased.
Studying the object he brought it closer to his face when suddenly the light started flickering before completely disappearing and the absolute darkness returned.
“Oh I probably should have mentioned that before.” Denoples said with a certain amusement, his voice cutting through the blackness coming closer to Dailon as he spoke. “Let me show you.” Denoples said from close enough that Dailon could smell his breath and it made the hair on his neck stand up. His voice was too honey sweet and reeked like alcohol.

Okay let´s hope I am getting back into my morning schedule of posting.
That is the end of the chapter, I hope you like it. >.< I had some trouble deciding were to end this. Originally I wanted to add several more pages, but then I didn´t want to drag the chapter on endlessly and continue from a new perspective. ^^ Next we will have a short (3-6 pages) chapter about the teacher and then back to Gaikor I think. Anyway I hope you liked the ending of the chapter.
